This hat was designed to work with busy yarns or fun color pooling yarns. The slipped stitches are a fun element and the texture doesn’t get lost in the busy yarn. I love to dye and work with really wild variegated or speckled yarns, but it is sometimes hard to find a stitch pattern that doesn’t get lost in the colors. The great thing is that this pattern would also be lovely in solid or semi solid colors. I hope you enjoy working this hat.

Needles:
US size 7/4.5mm. US size 8/5mm.

Gauge:
18 sts = 4 inches in stockinette stitch in the round.

Newborn, 3 month, 6 month, 12 month, 24 month, 3-5 years, 6-10 years, Adult small, Adult medium, Adult large.

Pattern notes:

1. There are two brim options, a short row option and a simple plain band.
2. In the body section of the pattern there are directions for making this hat slouchier.
3. The stitch pattern will overlap the beginning of the round in a number of places. Clear instructions for these rounds appear in the written instructions.
