A pair of Galatea Fingerless Mitts is the answer for when the spring days are nice but just cool enough that you need to warm up your hands. The design lets you keep warm and allow your fingers to move freely for texting, knitting or whatever your heart desires. This is a digital pattern in a gorgeous lace design. It’s lots of fun to knit and it works up fast.
The mitts are knit flat with fingering weight yarn and then seamed to finish. Techniques used in these mitts are great for adventurous beginners and result in an accessory that is sophisticated enough for any wardrobe.
Please note that this is a digital pattern that will be downloaded to you once payment is made. This is not a physical item being purchased.
Sample Knit:
I have made the mitts using 1 skein (115g/ 4.0 oz.) of Allison Barnes Yarn (80% Superwash Merino Wool/ 20% Nylon) Basic Sock (Fingering Weight) Yarn in colourway London Fog. Substituting other Fingering weight yarns would be appropriate as long as you meet gauge.
Finished measurements (unstretched):
-Length: 7.5 (8, 8, 8.5, 8)”/ 18.75 (20, 20, 21.25, 21.25) cm. Length is adjustable.
-Circumference at Palm: 6.5 (7, 7.5, 8, 8.5)”/ 16.25 (17, 18.75, 20, 21.25) cm comfortably stretching 1”/2.5 cm.

1 skein (100g/ 3.5oz) of fingering weight yarn
Size US 0/2.0mm 24”/61cm circular needles or straight needles.
3 stitch markers
Row counter (optional)
