Galiano Island is a magical place in the Southern Gulf Coast Islands off the coast of Vancouver, Canada. The scenery is breathtaking and I was completely enamoured when I recently visited. I finished writing this pattern there, and had such a wonderful time, that it seems only fitting to call them Galiano. These socks have a bit of everything that keeps me happy. I like a pattern that works up quickly, is easily memorized, but also a bit showy in its design. I have added a cable, a couple of eyelets and lots of “cruise” rows, where we don’t have to think too much at all. I hope you love knitting them as much as I do.

This pattern was written for the knitter that likes an easily memorized, but knits up quickly into a pretty patterned sock. This is definitely one that you can take on the go!

Twisted ribbing flows into a pattern with one cable, and easy eyelets. You will be amazed how little you need to repeat these fancier rows. The pattern looks very involved, but you are actually knitting mostly rest rows, and before you know it, another repeat has been completed.

This is a great first cable, eyelet pattern, as well as a first try at patterned sock knitting. The back of the sock is all stockinette stitch.
