Managing the colorful art-teaching studio, ThunderWillow Community Arts, in Hudson, WI, allows me to experience different art media I have not yet made the time to try. I am grateful for this opportunity. We have a gallery filled with gorgeous works, designed and created by our instructors. The gallery has given birth to small yarn nook, which has been filled with yarney goodness and endless possibilities. Stop by and visit us sometime.

Recently, we’ve had some cooler temperatures, inspiring me to work on fall and winter projects. Knit this delightfully soft and warm chunky scarf in just a few hours. It’s fast and easy, using approximately 130 yards of any chunky yarn. Keep this pattern handy for rewarding quick knitting. It would also make a great gift!
The finished size is approximately 6 inches deep x 34 inches in circumference. For a shorter length, try one skein of Plymouth Baby Alpaca.
Try a provisional cast on and graft for a nearly seamless look.

Note: The cowl is knit flat, with I-cord edges knit in row by row. The ends are carefully stitched together as a cowl, or twist one end up to form a moebius (pictured) before stitching.
Reserve approximately 2 inches of yarn per stitch for the cast on and the bind off.
