Over a decade ago, I knit an earflap hat for my husband that he still wears to this day. One particularly cold winter, he told me that if had to choose one article of clothing to wear in a snowstorm, it would be that hat. While I wouldn’t recommend gallivanting around in the snow with nothing but your hat, I can wholeheartedly recommend earflaps on your next hat. A good earflap hat will keep your head, your neck and even parts of your chin warm. The Gallivant hat was designed to showcase the full potential of your self-striping yarn. By changing the texture of your stitches, direction of your stripes and length of your rows and rounds, you will see your yarn transform as you create your new favorite winter accessory.
