This shawl is my attempt at combining my love of crescent shawls and beading. Nothing ventured, nothing gained; right? A true gamble!

Casting on the bottom edge, you begin, from either the written directions or the chart, by working lace along the bottom edge and then work short rows to create the gentle crescent, before resuming the lace pattern across the top to finish the shawl.

There are two techniques you can use to create texture in this pattern; bobbles or beads, although you can surely knit it without either. The materials required for each method are different, so plan accordingly!

Bobble version: 500 yards fingering weight yarn.
Bead version: 450 yards fingering weight yarn; 304 size 6 beads, .60 mm crochet hook

The Frabjous Fibers ‘Cheshire Cat’ Mini Skein Pack contains more yarn that you will need to complete this shawl (640 yards/585 meters) My sample has 3 repeats on top and on bottom and I still did not use all the yarn.

PLEASE NOTE that I recommend using a yarn that is 100% wool for a firm block. Samples knit with nylon had edges that curled and did not want to block firmly.
