Gandalf Bag
A lord of wisdom throned he sat,
Swift in anger, quick to laugh;
An old man in a battered hat
Who leaned upon a thorny staff.
(From Frodo’s poem on Gandalf)
I tried to illustrate this in my Gandalf Bag, by using red yarn (his was the Ring of Fire), and a cable that looked like smoke rings.
So far I am the only one to knit this, so if you make it and have trouble, I am probably at fault. Feel free to send me a message if you have questions.
Note: The pattern does not have a key for the symbols used in it. The ‘c.o.l.’ means cross (the stitch in question) over to the left, ‘c.o.r.’ means cross over to the right, ‘c.u.l.’ means cross under to the left, and ‘c.u.r.’ means cross under to the right. The (k) or (p) next to a symbol means to knit or purl that stitch. I am sorry for any confusion.
