Gang-gang Cockatoo is the 7th species of a total of 12 Australian birds in this Amigurumi guide.
Male and female of the Gang-gang Cockatoo have some color variations. The pattern gives you the instructions to make this amigurumi with the 2 options: Male or Female.
Difficulty: EXPERIENCED
Size: Using the yarn and hook listed, about 13cm (5”) from head to tail.
Also in this 3rd set you’ll find: Galah and Cockatiel
What materials do you need??
- Yarn in the colors indicated for each species (I used 8ply 100% Cotton yarn; 50g and less of each color) combined with a strand of sewing thread.
- A hook suitable for the yarn you are using. (I used a 2.5mm hook)
- Little pieces of White and grey Felt (To make the eye rings)
- Safety eyes (I used 7mm Black eyes)
- Stuffing
- Scissors, markers and yarn needle.
A little bit more about the patterns…
-
These birds are designed as one-piece amigurumi, which means you can make the entire bird as a continuous piece so you don’t need to sew any pieces at the end. But, I also give you the option of working all the pieces (or some) as separate pieces so you can sew them at the end as you’d normally do.

The layout I used is inspired by a Field Guide (the kind that Bird watchers use to identify the species of Birds they find), and with that in mind, I included some information about each species that I hope you find interesting.
-
A little bit extra!!! I included a small section on each pattern that tells you “Other species you can make” by adapting and making some changes to the pattern. With the entire series you’ll be able to make around 50 species of Australian birds!!
The entire guide is divided in 4 sets of three species each. Part 4 will soon be available
