Original instructions call for size 80 crochet thread and “Stahlstricknadeln Nr. 6/0” (modern 1.75mm), for a finished size 12 cm in diameter.

Cast on 8 stitches, repeat the chart 8 times per round through round 13, then 16 times per round.
