Gansey Sandpiper
The Gansey Sandpiper is a small hand-knit shorebird featuring traditional gansey motifs along its back and seed stitch wings. Five different gansey motif options are included as well as instructions for making a mini-shawl for your bird. The bird body instructions are charted, the head instructions are written.
Each year millions of shorebirds stop in the Copper River Delta of Alaska on their migratory route. The Net Loft has created a project called the “Copper River Delta Birds by Hand Project” in hopes that knitters from all over the world will donate handcrafted birds to display during the annual shorebird festival. For more information on this project and to submit a bird to the project visit https://thenetloftak.com/pages/copper-river-delta-birds-b... Anyone donating a hand-knit bird to the Copper River Delta Birds by Hand Project can use coupon code BIRDSBYHAND to get the pattern for free!
