Gapless Star Applique
From the innerchildcrochet.com website:
When I tried to find a crochet pattern for a small star-shaped applique for a project, I was unable to find one tight enough not to look terribly gappy against a darker backing. So I came up with my own! Here you will find instructions for three different sizes, from two inches across all the way up to three and three-quarters inches wide.
I used these stars to embellish a star-shaped baby afghan, but I think that they’d be great on hats, sweaters, or bags. You could even crochet two and sew them together for tiny stuffed stars to use as ornaments! I hope you like them: I think they turned out nicely.
From the pattern .pdf:
Versions shown were made with small amounts Red Heart Soft Baby (Powder Yellow)
and an F/5 (3.75 mm) hook. This pattern can be made in any hook/yarn combination, to
go with the project you are embellishing.
