Summer in Atlantic Canada means beautiful flowers in gardens and along the roads. The inspiring colours in this new yarn from Yarn Indulgences (Reflection colourway) made me think of summer blooms against a weathered split rail fence. Foxgloves, hydrangeas, snapdragons, sweet peas and cosmos dancing in the summer breeze.
I am a lazy gardener and aspire to such gardening heights, but quite frankly, I would rather be knitting, than weeding! I will knit my pretty flower vibes into my socks instead.

The stitch pattern is a fun textured knit around the leg of the sock that mimics a split rail fence. The little twisted stitches are so fun to do without a cable needle and have included written instructions as well as a video tutorial showing my method.

The pattern looks great on lots of different types of yarn…Give it a try! Check out my tester’s project pages for inspiration.

The sock comes in 3 sizes and is knit from the top down with a garter edged heel flap and traditional gusset. I finished it with my version of a rounded toe.

1 skein of fingering weight yarn.

Huge thanks to my test knitters Leanne, Heather, Rochelle and Darlene for their feedback and their beautiful socks.
