Garden Gate Washcloth
Reminiscent of picket fences, this simple, textured washcloth is perfect for all skill levels.
Size:
Approximately 7in/18cm square
Needles:
I used 4.5mm (US size 7) straight needles
Gauge:
Approximately 4.5 stitches per inch.
Notions:
• Tapestry needle
Yarn:
• The sample I made used:
• Knit Picks, Dishie (worsted weight, 4 ply, 190 yards per 100g skein, 100% cotton), in the colorway “Jalapeno.”
• Any worsted weight yarn in 100% cotton will work for this project
• You will need around 40 yards, or 20g, per washcloth
Notes:
• The size and stitch count of the washcloth can be easily modified; just add or remove stitches in increments of two.
• Cotton sheds fibers the first time it touches water, so make sure you launder your washcloth before use.
Skills Needed:
Perfect for beginners, this simple pattern utilizes:
• knitting
• purling
