Marlene Miller’s garden hat design is of moderate level difficulty (3/5), and is based on variations of stocking stitch. Following the pattern, the approximate dimensions of the finished piece will be:

measured flat and doubled, the rim of the hat is 68cm, and is adjustable with the silk tie.
short edge (sides): 85cm
height: 55cm

To knit the garden hat you will require:

• 75-80cm piece of silk material (a scarf, for example) as the tie
• 170m of linen yarn, or 200m of softie (80% silk, 20% wool)
• a pair of 5mm needles
