Garden of Evie
I designed this cute floral square for Granny Square Day 2023.
This little flower motif is worked in the round, with a textured puffy centre, 3D petals, then turned into a square, ready to be used within any project; a blanket, cushion, bag or even a cardigan.
I used Knitcraft Cotton Blend DK with a 4mm hook for a 10cm (4”) square. I used yellow for the middles, white for the petals, then a mixture of hot pink & coral for the background squares.
I also made some with hand dyed scraps, paired with Stylecraft bamboo cotton.
Could use any yarn and would make a great stashbusting project using up small amounts for the flowers.
This square is dedicated to my niece Evie, who inspired me to make this fun and joyful square. The name Evie means ‘life’ or ‘woman who enjoys life’ I hope you enjoy making it.
