The Garden Trellis pattern includes instructions for both the short, close to the neck version of the cowl, and the long, double wrap cowl. The colorwork is done with Lily Chin’s Tunisian colorwork technique that uses changing stitches to create the pattern, resulting in no floats or carries on the wrong side of the fabric, making the cowl fully reversible. Color choices for the yarn can create either a high contrast (see short cowl picture) or subtle contrast (see long cowl picture). Both cowls used Noro Silk Garden Sock Solo for the background color and Noro Silk Garden Sock for the contrast color. The short cowl uses about 55g (185yds) of the background color and 24g (80yds) of the contrast color, while the long version uses approximately 120g (400yds) of the background color and 78g (260yds) of the contrast color.
