Gardenias for Lady Day
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
This pattern was inspired by the beautiful Billie Holiday, who was so often seen with big, gorgeous gardenias in her hair. I wanted a 3-dimensional flower that captures the drama and elegance of both the blooms and the iconic crooner.
This pattern uses a number of crochet stitches with extended posts (treble crochet, double treble crochet, etc.). In the Appendix, there is a photo tutorial for these stitches. Please keep in mind that I am using American crochet terminology. You will also find a text only version of the patterns in the Appendix for your printing convenience.
I hope you enjoy the pattern as much as I enjoyed creating a flower worthy of the fabulous Billie Holiday!
