The GarDenise dress can be made long or short, with or without collar, with or without sleeves plus many other options. It is made top down with the back panel being made first before the front left and right panels. Once you reach the required armhole size, these will be joined and made in turned rows to the end. After which plackets will follow and collar and sleeves are optional and will be made directly onto the garment hence the only sewing you need is for the buttons! The order of the stitches to be used can be customised to your very own preferences too.

The pattern is made-to-measure so that it can suit any body shape. While the pattern download here is in pdf form, it will direct you to a Google Sheet for the actual pattern. A pattern in spreadsheet form is new and needs getting used to, but once you understand how it works, it’s a breeze! The reason for using a Google Spreadsheet is, although it is made-to-measure, this pattern auto-calculates stitches required based on your body measurements and your desired ease of fit so that you don’t have to worry about the Math, you just need to count and know your own body measurement. The pdf will guide you on how to navigate Google if you are new to it and the Google Sheet pattern will provide instructions on how to follow it.

Yardage on yarn varies since there can be so many variations and use any yarn of your preferred yarn weight. Based on the tested variations, it ranges from about 1300m for a size S short Dress to 2500m for a size L midi dress.
