I’ve selected Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick yarn for this design as it produces large hearts and a long garland quickly but you can use any yarn you like combined with the yarn’s recommended hook size. For a delicate Christmas tree decoration, a crochet thread such as Aunt Lydia’s Fashion 3 with a 2.75mm (C-2) hook is perfect. Alternatively, a worsted weight yarn can be used to make a lovely garland to hang over a teenager’s - Lion Brand Wool Ease Worsted with a 6mm (J-10) hook is a good choice for this option.

The garland is crocheted in one piece so there are only two ends to weave in when using only the one ball of yarn and no pieces to sew together! Each heart is completed before starting the next so your garland can be as long or short as you wish.
