Notes:
•Consider this a 3 part pattern consisting of the garlic, the mesh bag, and the bag tag tapestry.
•Gauges
-For garlic: 4 rows of 5 sc = 5.5” x 5.5” (14x14 cm) square. Adjust your yarn/hook type needed to achieve gauge.
-Mesh bag utilizes fabric and sewing. No gauge required.
-For bag tag tapestry: 8 rows of 8 sc = 2” x 2” (5x5 cm) square. Adjust your yarn/hook type needed to achieve gauge.
•Measurements
- One garlic is about 15”x15”x11” (38x38x28 cm).
-Your final bag is dependent on the amount of garlics you wish to make.
- Bag tag tapestry is about 15”x18” (38x45.75cm).
•Skill level
-Intermediate for crocheters. Simple crochet stitches and basic techniques are used. However to create all parts of this project, you will need to be comfortable with crocheting with jumbo yarn and reading graphs.
-Beginner for sewists. The mesh bag holding all the garlics is made with mesh fabric and sewn together. No crocheting involved. Sewing skills and measurements are very beginner friendly, the only difficult part is getting used to working with netting/mesh yarn. An iron is highly recommended for this fabric. It is possible to hand sew this project, although be warned it will be tedious if so.
•Please note that if you are making more than one garlic, you need to multiply the materials for the garlic to the amount you need.
•Please note the tutorial pictures and videos use the wrong side of crochet as the presentation side. This is purely out of personal preference. The project will work on any side you wish to be the “right” side.
