Finished Measurements This hat is meant to fit snugly and will stretch over time.

  • S/M 18.5” (47 cm)
  • M/L 20” (50.8 cm)

Additional Yarn Information The pattern only lists “elann.com” as the yarn, but since Peruvian Highland Wool is the only worsted weight 100% wool with the elann.com brand, the editor assumes this is the yarn used.
- 2 skeins, #1068 Tranquil Lagoon

Additional Notions Cable needle, five stitch markers (one a different color than the others).

Pattern Notes: This hat was knitted in the round on 2 circular needles. However if you are unfamiliar with the 2 circular needle method, you can easily knit this on double pointed needles.

When casting on, it will make knitting this hat easiest to knit if you divide the stitches among the needles in full pattern repeats. DO NOT split up the pattern repeat as this will lead to problems with the cabling and decreasing.

The first and last stitches of each chart represent the ribbing that runs up the length of the hat. These stitches are needed for both sizes. It is here that the decreases are worked to form the top of the hat. The charts do not indicate for you to perform a decrease however you will notice that there is no longer a stitch where there was one. To perform the decrease and maintain the ribbing is quite simple. At the beginning of the pattern repeat, simply slip, slip, knit. At the end of the pattern repeat, knit 2 together.

Each chart represents one repeat of the pattern.
