At the pond’s edge, the water has frozen into undulating ridges resembling a topographical map. Thin crystalline sheets of ice form a ridged covering over yards of ground, transforming the landscape into an icy world. As the sunlight hits the frost covered tree branches and pond flora, the ice crystals encapsulating them dance and cast tiny slivers of rainbow. Fractals of ice and beauty in each snowflake- so geometric and yet so organic, and each individual. Viewed up close, they are spectacular and each full of their own light, viewed together they are breathtaking and transformative.
