Wonderful textured baby blanket for your wee one! Good for either a boy or a girl in your favorite Light (#3) yarn weight. Makes a nice sized blanket (Approximately 26” x 33”) using your garter carriage. Set it and let it do it’s thing!

This pattern is written for a standard gauge Brother (or KnitKing) punchcard machine with a garter carriage. If you have an electronic machine, you can probably figure out how to load it onto your machine and do the pattern as well.

You will also need 3 blank punchcards or a roll of punchcard material and a handy punch to create the 3 punchcards needed for this design. One of the cards you probably already have that comes with the garter carriage, but I included a schematic just in case you don’t have it so that you can punch it.

Comes off the machine ready to go. Just block it and you’re done. The pattern has nice non-roll edges and a finished edge on top and bottom and is reversible. The pattern takes you step-by-step through everything - so if you haven’t got the ol’ garter carriage out in a while, no worries! I tell you everything you need to do, every setting from the cast on to the bind off, suggested weights, etc.

Beautiful texture that reminds me of tulips or pinecones.

Any light DK yarn (about 800 yards) suitable for your garter carriage - like Baby Bee Sweet Delight makes a lovely blanket. I gave some other suggestions for yarns that are similar, but feel free to experiment with your favorite.

Pattern takes approximately 12 hours to knit using your garter carriage.
