I call this technique Tunisian garter stitch because of its appearance.
This cloth is made with two contrasting colours, one for all the forward pass stitches, and a second yarn for all the return pass stitches.
Worked on any number of stitches, this pattern is easily adapted to a scarf or blanket size project.
For heavier yarn you can substitute an extended stitch for the forward pass.
