This hat can be made in one color or several. The images shown are with two colors and two different types of yarn. The stripe at the brim is a remnant merino wool that is slightly thicker than the Superwash wool used for the body of the hat. Because of this change in the weight of the yarn, the number of stitches was increased when the color change happened. If using all one color, or all the same weight of yarn, just start off with the same amount of stitches and ignore the increase row directions.
