The method is not well known. It creates a beautiful fabric, and can imitate any knitted basic stitch.
The garter- and the rib-stitch is one of the easiest!

For a crocheter slip stitches are slow to work, the same speed as for knitting!
You will be rewarded with a lovely fabric!
With bulky yarn and large hook, you will finish this plain sweater in short time!
I may recommend this basic sweater also for almost-beginners!
