I originally made this for my husband. He wanted a large garter stitch washcloth to take to the gym for a sweat rag. I get bored with plain garter stitch, so I added the cable to keep myself knitting. To make it 12-in instead of 8, cast on 52 sts instead 36 and work for desired length ending with an “X”
