Axolotls are an aquatic salamander that live in a lake system in Mexico.They come in a variety of colors such as brown, black, golden albino (as shown) and the pink colored albino that most are familiar with. This design was inspired by my oldest son’s fascination with this creature.

This doll is worked from the bottom up. The arms, tail, and gills are made separately and sewn on. The hood is removable.
