I love nature programs. I especially love nature programs that show me a world of beauty to which I barely pay attention. I was watching one such program when the image of a snail, gracefully moving across a mushroom top, struck me and I thought to myself, ‘What a wonderful world!’ Of course, I had to try to paint that image with yarn.

These mittens are knit with a Latvian braid cuff and an afterthought thumb. Light fingering and US1 (2.25mm) needles are used but additional sizes can be achieved by using smaller or larger needles and lighter or heavier sock yarns.
