Gates and Ladders Scarf
The Gates and Ladders stitch is a great lace technique but it can be a little bit intimidating. This technique incorporates a double yarn-over that can cause some confusion so be sure you are working in a quiet setting with no distractions when you are first starting this pattern. The sample scarf was knit with a fingering weight yarn, but it can also be made with other weights of yarns. If you are using a heavier yarn, be sure to use one with some nice drape to it. Worsted weight wools wil not give you as nice of a drape. Most viscose yarns will be light enough to provide the desired drape.
