Gator Gaiter
by Joanne Seiff
This scarf has all the charm of a quick knit with a sophisticated look at the end! I’ts flexible in terms of yarn choice--double a fingering weight yarn or use a DK weight one. Each scarf features a 5” triangle point and an offset stitch which widens to a rectangular scarf. The shorter gator gaiter is knit with a indie-dyed sock yarn; the longer gaiter is knit with one strand of my DK weight handspun cashmere.
Yardage needed:
For shorter gaiter--
150 yd(137m) of DK weight yarn
or
300 yd(274m) of fingering weight yarn, doubled
For longer gaiter--
240 yd(219m) of DK weight yarn
or
480 yd (439m) of fingering weight yarn, doubled
Note: Row gauge is not overly important to this pattern. Scarves are flexible!
