Gaudete
Beautiful throw constructed from hexagon motifs.
The design uses the inset mosaic crochet technique, which means that there is no fiddly colour changing within rounds.
Colours are changed every 2 rounds, and the pattern is created by leaving ch-sps in the first colour, which are filled in by trs (US dcs) in a contrasting colour on the next RS round, leaving the ch-sps unworked behind.
Pattern is available in both UK and US terms, and includes a clear chart, full written instructions, and lots of helpful photos.
Originally designed for a winter issue of Crochet Now magazine using white for C2, to give the effect of snowflakes, but if you change the colours around it is suitable for any time of year.
It would also make a great stash-busting project.
