Gauzy is a triangular shawl, worked from the top down with simple but brilliant lace motifs. The increases are made on both sides of the center stitch and along the edges of the shawl to make the triangle shape.
This pattern could easily be made with lace to fingering weight yarn. By simply adding more repeats of the sections, you can make a shawl as large as you wish.
Please note: the stitch pattern in this shawl is charted only. Any chart has written description in a convenient format even for beginners.
To help you plan your shawl this pattern contains several helpful sections. On one own page, there is a diagram for each half of the shawl showing how the pattern sections will be used. The individual charted sections are shown on two pages. Finally, line-by-line, written instructions are given on two pages beside each chart.
Yarn
The sample is worked in Scrumptious Lace (501 Cherry) by Fyberspates (1094 yds (1000 m) / (3.53 Oz (100g), 55% Wool – Merino, 45% Silk). The pattern calls for 600 – 700 yards (550- 650 meters) lace weight yarn.
Finished Measurements
After blocking – – 70.9” (180 cm) wingspan along the top edge, 34.6” (88 cm) deep. Gauge is not critical here so size may vary a little.
