Gavin's Blanket
Simple solid color baby blanket. (The pattern stands out best with solid colors).
I have also used cotton to make this blanket. Both types of yarn can work.
The absolute best thing about making blankets is that your gauge can vary a bit as long as you have the yarn to complete it.
I used the 160 grams, 5.6 oz balls. Approximately 394m/431 yards. Needed 4 to complete the blanket. I had a bit left over.
Gauge Swatch:
Cast on 36 sts. Knit first inch in garter stitch (knit every row). Change to stockinette stitch (alternating knit and purl rows) for five more inches. Switch back to garter stitch and knit one more inch. Take your needles out of the stitches – you can pic
