This shawl was inspired by a photograph of my friend’s beautiful Gazania flowers blooming in her garden. There is something so pleasing about seeing a striking flower in its glory, with vivid colours catching the eye and perfect patterned symmetry to each petal.
Gazania is a top-down crescent shawl designed with two contrasting colours. The main body is knitted in smooth, relaxing stockinette and then you start to grow the flowers row-by-row. Once the flowers are in full bloom, the contrast colour takes the lead to create a lacy leaf pattern along the border of the shawl.
The end result is a large, cozy shawl that encompasses the beauty and sanctuary of a peaceful summer garden.
This pattern has been professionally tech edited and test knitted prior to release.
