A Tunisian crochet afghan made with blanket yarn, worked on the bias, with a join as you go method for an unique and cozy herringbone blanket

Using Bernat Blanket yarn, I wanted to make an unique and cozy blanket. With the join as you go method, you are making shorter panels, making the body of the blanket easier to crochet up, with less loops on your hook. By using that join as you go method, you get this beautiful herringbone effect that otherwise would be many balls of yarn at one time. The yarn is bulky and works up quickly. With the color changes, the blanket is very motivating for that “one more row” mentality.

Available Sizes - One size -76” long and 59” wide after blocking.

Suggested Yarn - Bernat Blanket yarn. For the red and white yarn, you need slightly more yarn than 2 balls. This was a stash busting project for myself, so I had half of a skein lying around. Just a heads up that you will need that third ball if you want it to look the same as my pattern.

Hooks Used: 12mm crochet hook with 18” cord

Notions Used: Scissors, Tapestry Needle, Blocking Supplies
