I created this pattern at the request of my son who wanted to give reverse-colored gear shift hats as gifts to his former roommates. The little hats have a ribbed brim and pompom in one color and a stockinette body in a contrasting color.

I used 3 mm double-pointed needles and small amounts of DK-weight yarn from two skeins to make reverse image gear shift covers. This is a great stash buster, if you don’t need specific colors.
