I am one of the co-hosts for the Geeky Puffin Knit Palooza which is a retreat being held in Farnham, England, from Thursday, 10-November-2016, through Sunday, 13-November-2016. I designed this sock pattern as a gift for our retreat attendees.

About the design: I took the name of our retreat and put it into a morse code generator. Then I translated the dashes and dots into a sock pattern. The result is a beautifully textured sock.

Both toe-up and cuff-down instructions are included in the pattern.

These socks are knit using the magic loop method (although the purchaser could easily adapt it for two circulars or double points).

This pattern includes toe-up and cuff-down instructions.

The socks are knit using Judy’s Magic Cast-On, ending with Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off, or using the German Twisted Cast-On, ending with Kitchener stitch.

The knitter needs to be comfortable with the following techniques: knit, purl, k2tog, knit through the back loop (ktbl), M1R, M1L, slipped stitches, SSK, and wrap and turns (W+T). Instructions for all these techniques are included in the pattern. In addition, a video tutorial for the shadow wrap technique of W+T for short rows has been recorded by the designer.

This pattern includes instructions in both written and chart forms for 56 stitch, 64 stitch, and 72 stitch socks.
