Geisha Gone Wild is the second shawl in the Japanese Maple seies.

Acer Palmatum “Geisha” and its sister maple, “Geisha Gone Wild” are famous for their bright pink-red leaves in the spring and again in the fall. The amount of colour varies with the weather and the light conditions. They are among my absolute favourites in the garden. Their colour is intense, especially in the spring.

The shawl is worked in one piece, starting at the top edge. Short rows are used to shape the stockinette stitch body, making this shawl crescent in shape. The lacey border has beads throughout and a beaded bindoff.

2 skeins of Sericin Silkworks Silk Cashmere Laceweight in “Soft Cerise” were used in this shawl, with size 6 silver-lined crystal beads. The shawl is light and airy and very reminiscent of the Geisha maple. The shawl can be made longer or shorter with additional (or fewer) repeats of the lacey border.

The shawl is considered intermediate in difficulty because of the short rows and lace pattern.
