Gelato Mitts
These are my favorite ‘fancy’ mitts to wear when going out. I think they look particularly beautiful knit in a solid, tonal, or speckled yarn. While they look marvelously intricate, they are delightfully easy to knit. The pattern is relaxing and will keep your interest as you watch it develop on the needles. Knit up a few pairs to share!
Simple stitches create the gorgeous pattern that travels up the hand. The bind-off curves along the outline of the fingers, and it just magically happens, no extra work needed.
If you can knit, purl, and yarn over, you can absolutely make these mitts! If you’re new to thumb gussets, tips and tricks are provided to help along the way.
Update! Instructions are written and charted now, use what you like!
Sample was knit with Regia Premium Merino Yak in color 7513 Mint Meliert and used 36g / 160yds / 144m for the pair. You certainly could knit these with sock yarn scraps or a couple mini skeins.
Happy Knitting!
