The Gelato Vest Top can be made with two straps or as a halter neck, and features contrast garter stitch detailing at the sides of the body and outlining the edges of the garment. It looks great as a layering piece, so can be worn all year round.

The top is worked flat in two pieces from the bottom up, then seamed together and the straps joined using a three needle bind off. Intarsia is used to create a contrasting colour border, or you can choose to use just one colour if you aren’t comfortable with intarsia. Useful links to help with new techniques are included in the pattern.

The Gelato Vest Top combines the intarsia, side stripe and construction method of the Milkshake Tank Top with the overall shape of the Sorbet Crop Top. (If you like the Sorbet design, but prefer working flat to in the round, this is the top for you! Simply knit the top using just one colour for a similar result.)

This pattern is written for 13 sizes ranging from a 64 cm (25 1/4”) to 164 cm (64 3/4”) chest, and is colour coded throughout for clarity. For more details see the size chart provided. The length is completely adjustable so you can make this as long or cropped as you like - details on how to make adjustments are included in the pattern.
