Gelila Poncho
Explore a range of stitches to create a beautiful, functional poncho. Worked in crochet, the poncho has texture and a lovely drape. I wanted to design something that was relatively straight forward, so that I could enjoy the rhythm of the stitches without constantly referring to the pattern, but that included an interesting range of textural stitches. The poncho is made of two rectangular panels surrounded with a simple border. The panels are then joined along the shoulder edge, leaving a neck opening. I used two Scheepjes Whirls (one for each panel), and a Whirlette for the edging. There are two versions of the pattern, one using UK terms and one using US terms.
