All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.

A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. The Gemini Head Wrap is a super cute reversible head wrap/headband knit using the double knit technique! Pick two of your favourite fingering weight yarns and knit up this gorgeous little head wrap, and you can pick which side to showcase depending on your mood and outfit of the day! You could wear it as a headband, head wrap, hair tie, bag tie, you name it!

This is a relatively simple knit, however it does use the double knitting technique, as well as increases and decreases while double knitting. It isn’t too complicated but it can take a little bit to get used to!

Size:
Approx. 28” length** x 2.5” width
The length is made to measure, so you can make it to fit your head measurements.

Needles recommended:
3.5 mm / US 4 - can use circulars or straight needles
may need other size needles to meet gauge

Gauge:
26 sts x 30 rows = 4 x 4 “ (10 x 10 cm), in double knit pattern, worked flat
this gauge is rough, as it is extrapolated from the width of the head wrap. If you are somewhere around this for your stitch gauge you should be fine, the row count doesn’t really matter as you are making it to measure!

Yarn recommended:
Any two colours of fingering weight yarn! I chose a neutral and a fun variegated so I could have two totally different looks, but feel free to choose whatever speaks to you! You don’t need much yardage for this design, so this is a great way to use up some leftovers from other projects!

I used Explorer Knits - Cashmere Caverns Sock (435 yds / 100 g) in Don’t Be Jelly and Less Traveled Yarn - 757 Sock (463 yds / 100 g) in Vanta for my sample. My sample used about 13 g of each colour, but you may need a little more or less depending on your head size.

Yardage required:
Colour 1: ~10-15 g
Colour 2: ~10-15 g

Total yardage for solid version: ~20-30 g
