Gemma Polo is a drop shoulder top down polo sweater with an adorable collar and button bands worked in double knitting. First, knit a back piece back and forth while increasing stitches to make a shoulder slope. And then, pick up stitches from the back piece for shoulder pieces. After this, make button bands and continuous button holes without cutting yarn. When the button bands have been made, join the pieces to knit in the round. The body is finished with a folded hem and the silhouette of balloon sleeves completes the look.

Gemma Polo requires the skills of cast on, knit, purl, increase (M1L, M1R, yarn over, backwards loop cast on), decrease (k2tog, ssk), pick up, double knitting, basic bind off and tubular bind off.
