Easily adaptable patterns, add a few more increases to make it slouchy, have some more decreases to close it up and add a Pom-pom, add more rows to the brim to make it longer’ smaller hook to make child size, larger hook to make a larger circumference.

As this pattern uses a 3DC cluster, it does use a fair bit of yarn, but this makes it a nice warm hat!
