Gemstone Cloth, a great little project with diamond shapes only made of knit and purl stitches. The textured surface is ideal for using it as either a washcloth or a dishcloth. The cloth measures 8,6 x 8,6 in/22 x 22 cm.

You only need to know the basics cast on, knit, purl and bind off for this beautiful piece.

Skill level 1 & 2: Advanced beginner & Easy

Although it is easy to knit only using knit and purl stitches, the pattern requires concentration and attention. If you enjoy a challenge this will be the project for you!

The pattern has written instructions row by row in English and has even a chart included if you prefer working with charts or as a supplement to the written directions.

You will need:

• Circular or straight needles US 4/ 3,5 mm/ UK 9
• Yarn (cotton or linen (aran/worsted/10 ply yarn)
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle

I have used about 50 grams of Drops Paris (cotton) for the cloth on the picture, but you can use lighter yarn if you want. 1 skein of Drops yarn is 1,8 oz/50 grams and 82 yards/75 meters. The knitting gauge is not very important when knitting cloths, if you knit in lighter yarn, the cloth will be a bit smaller.
