El Chaleco Generalife está inspirado en los Jardines del Generalife, (Granada, España), residencia de verano de los reyes nazaríes del Reino de Granada, en los que solía pasear de niño con mi familia. Estos jardines, además de ser un regalo para los sentidos, están repletos de fuentes de agua con multitud de chorros que se cruzan entre sí, creando formas geométricas de ensueño. El motivo central del chaleco es una vaga imagen de la belleza de estas fuentes.

Este chaleco se teje de abajo hacia arriba en circular y por el revés de la labor. Al llegar a las sisas hay que preparar el tejido para hacer un steek (palabra escocesa usada para referirse al corte del tejido). De igual forma se hace con el cuello. Al final, uniremos los hombros con punto Kitchener, cortaremos los steeks y tejeremos los elásticos del cuello y de las sisas.

Estas medias corresponden a la prenda terminada. Te recomiendo entre 5 y 10 cm de holgura. Elige la talla según tu contorno de pecho más la holgura que desees (ejemplo: si tu contorno de pecho es 100 cm y quieres una holgura de 8 cm, deberías coger la talla 4). El largo lo puedes modificar tú para adaptarlo a tus medidas.

HILADO
Cualquier hilado grosor fingering (unos 400m en 100 gr). En la muestra se ha usado Silkyak de El Robledal de la Santa. La cantidad de hilado dependerá del tejedor. En la siguiente tabla se indican unos metros aproximados para cada talla.

The Generalife Vest is inspired by the Generalife Gardens (Granada, Spain), summer residence of the Nasrid kings of the Kingdom of Granada, where I used to walk as a child with my family. These gardens, as well as being a gift for the senses, are full of fountains with a multitude of water jets crossing each other, creating amazing geometric shapes. The central motif of the vest is a vague image of the beauty of those fountains.

This vest is knitted bottom-up in the round on the wrong side. When you reach the armholes, you make preparations for a steek. The neckhole is made in the same way. At the end, you join the shoulders with Kitchener stitch, cut the steeks and work the ribbing of the armholes and the neckband.
