Inspired by the tulip fields that emerge after spring rains, the body and sleeves of this pullover feature vertical bands of tulip-shaped lace. The front and back of this sweater are worked separately from the top down to the underarm, then the lower body is worked in the round to the bottom edge.

Yarn Paintbox Yarns 100% Wool Worsted (100% wool; 219 yd 200 m/ 3 ½ oz 100 g): #1231 Seafoam Blue, 5 (5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9) skeins. Yarn distributed by LoveCrafts.

Needles Sizes 6 (4 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm): 32” circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Size 6 (4 mm): 16” cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Markers (m); stitch holder; waste yarn for provisional CO; cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.

NOTES

  • This pullover is worked from the top down. The front and back are worked separately back and forth to the underarm, then the body is worked in the round to the lower edge. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up and the sleeves are worked in the round from the top down.

  • For size 56 ¾“, on Row 14 of the Right Front chart and on Row 15 of the Left Front chart, don’t wrap and turn; work the last stitch instead.

  • For sizes 36 ¾ (40, 42 ½, 45 ½, 48 ½, 51)“, on Row 7 of the Left Front chart, the wrap is worked together with the wrapped stitch while working the k2tog.

  • For sizes 54 (56 ¾, 59 ½, 62 ½)“, on Row 13 of the Left Front chart, the wrap is worked together with the wrapped stitch while working the double decrease.
