The Gentle Waves Cowl is a cosy lace cowl, which looks more difficult than it really is and knits up really quickly. The only stitches needed for the lace pattern are decreases and yarn overs.

The pattern has been designed to use five mini skeins held double with a solid colour, but it could be knit with just two yarns held double.

The pattern has written instruction and a chart for the lace. Please read all instructions before commencing pattern.

One size; easily adapted.
13.5 inches tall
21 inches circumference

Needles:
5 mm (US 8) circular needles (or size needed to get gauge).
I used a short circular needle but can also be worked using the Magic Loop Method by dividing the stitches in half on each needle.

Yarn: Main colour - 50g (approximately)
Colours 1 & 5 - 12g
Colours 2, 3, & 4 - 8g
I used Giddy Yarns “Bedtime Stories” 20g Mini Skein Bundle and Drops Flora Colour 2: white held together.

Gauge: 18 sts per inch x 22 rows per 4 inches using 5 mm needle (while gauge is not vital in this pattern it will alter the amount of yarn needed.)
