The Geometric Ambigram is a mosaic overlay crochet pattern that contains several design combinations; each dominant depending on how the eye perceives them. The lines are strong and clean, and the overall design possesses a classy, traditional charm.

The photo sample presented for this pattern was constructed with YARNSMITHS CREATE acrylic DK in black and light silver. YARNSMITHS is available through Wool Warehouse and, for those of you who need a budget-friendly, quality yarn, this is a good value - even abroad. However, this pattern is suitable for a number of fibers and color combinations in most any reputable brand.

Measurements for the finished blanket are an approximate 70” x 45”, with a gauge of 24R x 24S. You will need 2,200 yds of DK (light worsted) in Color A (shown in black) and 2,200 yds of DK (light worsted) in Color B (shown in light silver). To increase or decrease the blanket length, adjust the foundation chain by a count of 14. This will increase or decrease the length by an approximate 2.5 inches. To increase or decrease the blanket width, add or omit one 14-row repeat for each 2.5” adjustment.

You will need a 3.5 mm hook for the best result.

Knowledge required: Mosaic Overlay technique.

Mosaic overlay technique uses a combination of back loop single crochet & Dip-down double crochet stitches to create unique color pathways. If you can single crochet or double crochet, learning Mosaic Overlay is a quick and easy study.

The pattern includes specs, a glossary of abbreviations, graph keys, printable written instructions and an expandable graph. Printing the written instructions will allow for simultaneous use of both the written portion and graph.
